Well...we at Little Shop have had some computer issues. We are pet groomers, NOT IT specialists, so do forgive our delay in updating the blog. All is not solved as of yet, but we were able to get our paws on a computer and internet in the same location today and therefore will be blogging our brains out. Ok ok, maybe not THAT crazy but we will post some updated info. First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there...whether your children be 2 legged or 4, they both count! Rememb... Came across a show on Animal Planet tonight that I have now set on my TiVo, My Cat From Hell. Jackson Galaxy is the cat world's Victoria Stilwell (from It's Me or the Dog for those of you who don't know, check it out). He is a cat behaviorist who deals with kitty conundrums and helps families live more in harmony with their feline friends. I highly recommend watching it if you have cats, are considering getting a cat, or just want to learn more about how to handle cats. It's obvious from ... Continue reading ...

Here's several blogs that I often frequent. I know many of the people writing these blogs and they are caring pet professionals with a wealth of knowledge that is apropos to both pet stylists and pet parents. Thought I'd share these treasures with you as I enjoy getting lost for hours in their posts and you may too! Pet First Aid and Care written by Mary Oquendo C.M.P.T.I, C.C.S. Mary is not only a good friend of mine, but also a very active player in advancing pet first aid knowledge aroun... Continue reading ...

When the house begins to fill up with family, friends and more importantly food, it can get a little hairy trying to keep both visitors and pets happy. Here are some ideas we've come up with to help ease the stress on all involved. - Give your dogs a good walk or romp in the yard early in the day to help tire them out and release some of the tension they've been sensing in you and other family members leading up to the big day. Not only will it help to stretch their legs, but it's a good w... Continue reading ...

- Your hairdresser doesn't wash and clean your rear end and then follow up with a sanitary trim.
- You don't go 6-8 weeks without washing or brushing your hair and rolling in the yard in the meantime.
- Your hairdresser doesn't clean your ears and eyes.
- Your haircut doesn't include a mani/pedi.
- You sit still for your hairdresser.
- Your hairdresser only washes and cuts the hair on your head, not your entire body.
- You don't bite or scratch your hairdresser.
- Your hairdresser doesn't give you a bath.
- Your ha...

While I try to keep 99% of the information posted on here to be pet related, this was just too good not to share. Check out www.CleaningForAReason.com if you know a woman with cancer. This nonprofit organization offers once a month free home cleanings for four months for women who are undergoing treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have a doctor's note verifying her treatment. Please pass the word on to let people know there are people out there that are thinking of even their most...
