When I first heard about Reiki I was a little skeptical, even more so when I heard people rave about it's benefits on pets.  Then Craig, one of our bathing technicians and our in-house Reiki Master, slowly began to change my mind.  I asked him to help me dry a cat that had come into the salon for a bath and brushout.  Most cats are very tolerant for the whole process, but they are not usually enjoying it as much as we would like them to.  Well, Craig began to dry this cat and after a few minutes I went over to check on them and found the cat completely relaxed in his lap, legs outstretched and kneading in the typical happy cat way.  I couldn't believe it.  I asked him what he had done to make the cat so relaxed, his answer, "Reiki".

A week or two later, one of our more shall we say "wiggly" clients came in for his monthly haircut, Normally we are not able to clean this particular pup's face and eyes very well cause he does not allow us near these delicate areas, but with Craig working with him for a few minutes he was able to clean out this dog's eyes.  Again, I was amazed.  I began to research Reiki, specifically pet Reiki much more heavily.  I came to a point where I felt it would be a huge asset to our services if we offered this treatment to our patrons.  After displaying the sign offering this new service in our reception area, many customers came in and mentioned that they receive Reiki for themselves and are amazed at it's healing benefits.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese relaxation technique introduced to the US in the 1940's.  Dealing with the hundreds of energy points on the body called "meridians" (same basis for acupuncture and acupressure), Reiki is a quickly growing attribute in pet care and wellness.  A Reiki session for your dog or cat is a gentle, non invasive, hands on experience that brings a genuine sense of calm and ease.  It relieves stress and promotes healing.

We are offering 10 minute in bath sessions, 20 minute private sessions in our separate relaxation room, or 30 minute pet and parent private sessions.
