Been busy with so much around the shop lately that the blog has been sorely neglected. Since the last post, I have been to another grooming competition in Rhode Island.  I was entered in 4 classes.  In the "All Other Purebreds" class I was competing with Pippin, a curly coated Portuguese Water Dog, loaned to me by a good friend and PWD breeder, Jane Harding of Cutwater Portuguese Water Dogs in Essex.  With Pippin, I was given an honorable mention.  The judge, Julie Ostoski said of the class as a whole that there was so much talent in the ring she had to recognize it and offer an atypical 4th place or honorable mention.  I was so excited about this distinction even though I have had multiple first placements and group placements, this award is probably the one I am most proud of.  The competitors in that ring are amazingly talented and to be recognized alongside them made my entire weekend!

This Kerry Blue is Luna, my Kerry baby Clare's mom.  Fun being able to groom her, and have Clare play with her sister, mom, and aunt.

Pippin, the PWD.

Maela and Simon round out the group.

Our next competition isn't until October so we have time to rest up.
